Byciel Watsaam is a Surinamese singer and songwriter who has multiple number 1 hits to his name. In 2018 he won the prestigious composer competition Suripop with the song Ta Faa; the first composition in the Aucan language. The duet was sung by his wife Lycintha Watsaam-Winters and Eugene Main.
Byciel followed the Forest93 champions academy in 2020 which educated a group of five young professionals in broad facets of nature, environment, carbon finance and biodiversity. Each month they received lectures from national and international professionals to share lessons learned on their personal journeys within the environmental sector.
Byciel supported Forest93 with the theme song Mama Sranan and music for other Forest93 campaign videos.
